Citizens Advice York is hiring a Specialist Debt Adviser to join our team! With ongoing cost-of-living pressures, demand for debt advice across the city continues to rise. In this role, you’ll provide crucial early-intervention support and tailored advice to help local residents break free from problem debt and build financial resilience.
📍 Role Details: • Position: Specialist Debt Adviser (Community Debt Advisor) • Salary: £30,500 pro rata • Hours: 30 hours per week • Location: York (City Centre Office & local community outreach venues) • Contract: Fixed-Term
✨ What You’ll Do: • Deliver face-to-face sessions at strategic community venues across York (and telephone appointments when preferred). • Work in partnership with City of York Council to reach households facing severe financial hardship. • Provide specialist debt casework, option appraisals, and welfare benefit/income maximization checks.
